IBA, Zambales — Two rape suspects were arrested in separate manhunt operations against wanted persons in Zambales Tuesday night.
Zambales police director Col. Romano Velayo Cardiño identified the two suspects as Limwel Jovan Canillo, 39, of Barangay Looc and Rosalio Corquera Jr., 48, of Barangay Balaybay both in Castillejos, Zambales.
In his report to the ZPPO, acting chief of police of Castillejos Major Gian Napoleon F. Baquiran said joint operatives of Castillejos MPS and 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company conducted manhunt operation and arrested suspect Canillo by virtue of a warrant of arrest dated Nov. 23, 2021 issued by Judge Gemma Theresa B. Hilario-Logronio of RTC-Branch 12 FC, Olongapo City for violation of RA 7610
(Lascivious Conduct under Section 5 (B) Rape under Article 226-A (1) of the Revised Penal Code) under Criminal Case No. 2021-510FC,2021-511FC and 2021-513FC with no bail recommended.
According to Baquiran, Canillo sexually molested a minor.
In another manhunt operation later Tuesday evening, the Castillejos police and and 305th Regional Mobile Force Battalion 3 arrested Corquera Jr., by virtue of warrant of arrest dated Nov. 23, 2021 also issued by Hilario-Logronio for the crime of Qualified Rape (RPC ART. 266-B- Rape in relation to Article 266-B of the Revised Penal Code) under Criminal Case No. 2021-528FC with no bail recommended.
Baquiran said Corquera, Jr. sexually assaulted a mentally disabled minor victim with the use of force.
Both suspects are now locked up at the Castillejos MPS jail.
Cardiño said the Zambales PNP will continue its efforts to put most wanted persons behind bars and ensure the safety of the community against criminals.
