OLONGAPO CITY — The Central Luzon Occupational Safety and Health Network Inc. (CLOSHNET) recently held its 1st mid-year general assembly in coordination with OSHC REU 3 through its focal person Elisa Faye Baldevarona, with the theme “Occupational Safety and Health Resiliency Amidst Pandemic.”
According to CLOSHNET president Dr. Evelyn Lozano-Natividad, the webinar was attended by almost 300 occupational safety and health advocates from all over Region 3 and other regions.
Labor Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III graced the event, reiterating the importance of the partnership of DOLE and CLOSHNET in the implementation and dissemination of the departments’ various trainings and seminars and further acknowledged CLOSHNET as “champions of work safety in Region 3” and OSH advocacy most especially during this pandemic.
The event was also attended by the executive director of OSH Center ED Engr. Noel C. Binag.
Binag said that CLOSHNET is currently the most active OSH network in the country today despite its limitations and lack of resources and would like to continue its partnership with the DOLE OSH Center
DOLE Region 3 director Geraldine Panlilio, expressed her gratitude to CLOSHNET’S advocacy activities .
She likewise acknowledged and recognized the importance of the partnership between DOLE Region 3 and CLOSHNET in the implementation of trainings, programs and other advocacy activities in Region 3.
Panlilio thanked the CLOSHNET for their continuous effort to promote the plans and programs of the DOLE Region 3, and that the DOLE Region 3 will fully support CLOSHNET.
The webinar had three speakers namely Dr. Maria Antonia Yamamoto who discussed on ways to increase physical resiliency amidst this pandemic; neck and throat expert Dr. Agnes T. Remulla spoke about throat illnesses during this pandemic; and Danica Mae Lacson from the Employees Compensation Commission then updated the participants on the latest programs of the ECC in order to address employee compensation during this pandemic.
The CLOSHNET like the other OSH nets, was created under DOLE Department Order No. 53
