BALANGA CITY — The total number of vaccine doses administered in Bataan against the coronavirus disease has reached 722,480 with 323,114 individuals already fully vaccinated and 399,366 having received the first jab, Gov. Albert Garcia announced Saturday.

The governor said inoculations are going on in 29 vaccination sites in 11 towns and one city in the province while a vax-on-wheels program served those in far-flung areas.

The province has so far received from the Department of Health 416,100 multi-dose vial Sinovac, 8,960 multi-dose (10–12) vial AstraZeneca, 24,125 multi-dose Pfizer Biontech, 33,450 single-dose ampule Gamaleya Sputnik V, 9,310 multi-dose vial Moderna, 7,200 multi-dose (5) vial Janssen and 25,000 single-dose Sinopharm.

The governor announced that cases of Covid–19 continued to go down during the past days with new confirmed cases down to 10 to 30 compared to more than a hundred daily in the previous months.

He attributed the decrease of infections not only to people strictly following basic health protocols but of the willingness of many to undergo vaccination.

The PHO report showed that of those fully vaccinated, only 1.41 percent got infected but mostly mild ones as compared to 98.59 percent who were free of the virus.
