ANGELES CITY, Pampanga – Barangay Secretaries, Treasurers, and Executive Officers in this city announced their support for re-electionist Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. and the entire slate of Team Lazatin during a meeting on October 21, 2021 at the Best Western Hotel in Barangay Balibago.
Helen Liwanag, President of the Barangay Secretaries, expressed her gratitude for the Lazatin administration’s efforts to help Angeleños amidst the pandemic and pledge the support of the Barangay Secretaries of Angeles for Team Lazatin.
“Ikit tamu nung nanu ing gewa na at gagawan pa ngening pandemya na ala yang patugut memye relief karing bara-barangay,” said Liwanag.
“Asahan ye pu ing suporta na ning Secretaries of Angeles City keng Team Lazatin,” Liwanag added, “Team Lazatin for the win.”
This sentiment was echoed by Roland Arcilla, President of the Barangay Treasurers in the city.
“Pasalamat tamu kang Mayor Pogi Lazatin para kareng proyektu da pung gagawan, tatanggapan pu da reng maralitang taga-lungsud na ilang mas kailangan sopan keng panahun ayni,” Arcilla said, “In behalf pu keng kekaming asusasyun, asahan ye pu ing suporta naning ACBTL.”
Manuel Biag, President of the Barangay Executive Officers in the city, also delivered a special message during the event.
Biag narrated an incident when the Angeles City Association of Barangay Executive Officers (ACABEO) were seeking an appointment with Lazatin for the oath taking of their officers, and Lazatin himself went to Barangay Cuayan to meet them.
“Doon po naming naramdaman ang serbisyong may puso, doon po naming naramdaman na si ‘Ex-O’ at kilala din ni Mayor, at siya po mismo ang pumunta sa amin” Biag said.
Biag also recalled the relief distribution conducted in Barangay Pandan during the pandemic and commended the Lazatin administration and personnel who continued the relief distribution from the evening until 7:00 a.m. of the following morning to ensure that all barangay residents received their relief packs.
“Tinitiyak ko po, lahat yan aanihin ngayong darating na eleksyon,” added Biag.
In a meeting on October 14, former Barangay Officials in Angeles City also declared their support for Lazatin. Some 24 former Barangay Captains and 246 former Councilmen where present during the meeting.
On October 7, Councilmen’s League of Angeles City (CLAC) President Carlos Dela Cruz also stated their support for Lazatin’s re-election bid.
Lazatin, who is running for a second term as City Mayor in the 2022 Elections, was joined in the meeting with re-electionist Pampanga First District Representative Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II, who is running unopposed, and re-electionist City Vice Mayor Ma. Vicenta “Vicky” Vega-Cabigting.
Also present during the meeting was the entire slate of Team Lazatin councilor-aspirants – incumbent City Councilors Joan Crystal “JC” Aguas, Marino “Niknok” Bañola, Joseph Alfie Bonifacio, Raco Del Rosario, Danilo “Dan” Lacson, Jesus “Jay” Sangil, and Atty. Arvin “Pogs” Suller; as well as new hopefuls Rodelio Mamac Jr., Aaron Pineda, and Christopher Joseph “CJ” Ponce.
Lazatin and his team are running under the KAMBILAN party of Pampanga Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda and the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP).
If re-elected, Lazatin said that the cornerstone for his second term in his office shall be economic recovery in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, along with Health and Social Welfare, and Sustainability.
All attendees during the meeting underwent antigen testing via Quest Diagnostics prior to entering the venue.
