IBA, Zambales – After hiding for seven years from the police, a man wanted for maintaining a drug den in Zambales was arrested in Antipolo City on Tuesday afternoon.
Zambales police director Col. Romano Velayo Cardiño identified the suspect as Harley Viray y Eclarino, 42, of Purok 2, Peñafrancia, Barangay Cupang, Antipolo City, Rizal.
In a report submitted to the ZPPO, Lt. Pablo G. Aggabao, OIC of Candelaria Municipal Police Station, said that operatives of the Candelaria police, the provincial investigation and detection management unit, 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company, and Antipolo City police served an alias warrant of arrest against the suspect in his residence.
The warrant was issued by Presiding Judge Consuelo Amog-Bocar of Regional Trial Court, Third Judicial Region, Branch 71, Iba, Zambales dated July 31, 2014 docketed under Criminal Case No. RTC-6494-I, RTC-6495-I AND RTC-6496-I for Violation of Section 6 (Maintaining Drug Den) — wherein the penalty of life imprisonment to death and a fine ranging from P500,000 to P10,000,000 shall be imposed upon any person or group of persons who shall maintain a drug den, dive or resort where any dangerous drug is used or sold in any form – of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) with no bail recommended.
Report said suspect was listed Most Wanted Person at Regional level.
Viray is now under the custody of Candelaria MPS.
“Once again I commend the men and women of Zambales PNP for another successful manhunt operation to bring most wanted persons to the fold of justice and answer for the crimes they committed,” Cardiño said.
