SUBIC BAY FREEPORT – A total of 80 kilograms of shabu worth P544 million was seized here by authorities from three Chinese nationals following a buy-bust operation on Tuesday in Candelaria, Zambales that netted P3.4-billion worth of the illegal drug.
According to a report by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, the three Chinese nationals were arrested when elements of PDEA, the Philippine National Police, Bureau of Customs, and the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority’s Law Enforcement Department and Intelligence and Investigation Office conducted an interdiction operation at the Tipo Gate of the Subic Bay Freeport Zone.
The three Chinese nationals were identified as: Qing Chang Zhou, aka Ricky Chou, 37; Cai Cai Bin, aka James/Joseph Chua, 49; and Longcai Chang, 45, all of Metro Manila.
Aside from the 80 kilos of shabu, authorities also confiscated the following pieces of evidence: a maroon Mitsubishi Montero with plate no. NDO 6824; a black Toyota Land Cruiser with plate no. UOF 567; an Android phone and an analog phone.
The interdiction operation here was part of a drug operation conducted early Tuesday at a beach resort in Candelaria, Zambales.
The said operation led to the confiscation of P3.4-billion worth of illegal drugs, and the killing of four other Chinese nationals who traded fire against arresting police officers.
