BALANGA CITY — Bataan recorded on Friday 17 new casualties from the coronavirus disease that is considered as the highest in a day since January 1, 2021. Total deaths rose to 623, the provincial health office reported Saturday.
The new fatalities were: 77-year-old male from Abucay, 50-year-old male from Balanga City; two females aged 56 and 66 and two males aged 91 and 73 from Dinalupihan; two females, both aged 72 from Hermosa; 79-year-old male from Limay; two males aged 74 and 89 and two females aged 75 and 56 from Mariveles; 67-year-old female from Orani; and two males aged 69 and 55, and 83-year-old female from Samal.
The latest report also showed that those found positive of the virus reached 17,396 with 34 Delta variant and 2,979 active cases after 288 new confirmed Covid-19 cases were listed.
The new active cases came from Mariveles – 1,063, Balanga City – 414, Limay – 337, Dinalupihan – 306, Orion – 189, Abucay – 119, Bagac – 117, Samal – 105, Pilar – 99, Hermosa – 95, Orani – 92, and Morong – 43.
The new confirmed cases were from Dinalupihan – 52, Limay – 51, Balanga City – 44, Mariveles – 33, Bagac – 24, Abucay – 22, Samal – 17, Orion – 15, Orani – 13, Pilar – 12, Hermosa – 3, and Morong – 2.
The number of those who recovered reached 13,794 after recording 157 new recoveries: Balanga City (46), Dinalupihan (27), Mariveles (24), Limay (22), Abucay (14), Bagac (14), Orani (7), Morong (2), and Samal (1).
