BALANGA CITY – Covid-19 fatalities in Bataan are getting younger.
After an 11-month-old boy died of the coronavirus disease on Monday, another baby was reported as among nine new casualties Tuesday that brought the number of total deaths to 555.
The provincial health office reported Wednesday night that the infant was four months old and came from Hermosa town.
The other new fatalities were 64-year-old male from Abucay, 50-year-old female from Dinalupihan, two females aged 55 and 71 from Limay, and four females aged 39, 65, 85, and 67 from Mariveles.
The total number of those who tested positive of Covid–19 rose to 15,263 with 34 Delta variant and 2,355 active cases after recording 148 new confirmed cases.
Those who recovered reached 12,353 with the addition of 75 new recoveries.
The new confirmed cases were from Mariveles – 48, Dinalupihan – 27, Balanga City – 20, Samal – 16, Limay – 12, Abucay – 7, Orion – 6, Pilar – 5, Bagac – 3, Morong – 2, and Hermosa – 1.
The new recoveries were from Mariveles (32), Balanga city (13), Limay (11), Abucay (5), Dinalupihan (5), Samal (5) and Orion (4).
Total administered with the first dose were 132,201 individuals while 119,012, with 43,404 given single-dose Janssen, were fully vaccinated.
