CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — For its wise use of fiscal resources in ensuring the high standards of quality in its projects, the Department of Public Works and Highways Region 3 office has been ranked No. 1 in the whole country for the month of May.
“DPWH Region 3 ranked first nationwide in absorptive capacity for the month of May of this current year, a reflection that all projects were efficiently implemented in accordance with proper financial utilization,” declared Public Works Senior Undersecretary Rafael “Pye” Yabut at Tuesday’s meeting of DPWH Central Luzon offices in Subic.
Yabut personally congratulated DPWH Region 3 director Roseller A. Tolentino for successfully achieving the Absorptive Capacity and Disbursement Rate targets for May 2021.
For his part, Tolentino thanked Yabut for his support and guidance in ensuring that all the region’s project-related concerns are immediately resolved.
“I would like to encourage our district engineers to work and push harder to sustain our status as a top performer for absorptive capacity and disbursement rate. We know it was not easy, but we it can be done,” Tolentino said.
Yabut also rallied all District Engineering Offices to do their best in all aspects of project implementation since the overall accomplishments of the Region 3 office largely depend on their performance.
This, as Assistant Secretary for Regional Operations in Luzon Wilfredo S. Mallari aired his concerns on project accomplishments and reminded the attending district engineers to religiously comply with all management issuances concerning project executions.
Yabut on the other hand lauded the completion of projects implemented by the different DEOs in the region.
In another development, Secretary Mark Villar made the rounds of provinces in Central Luzon for the inauguration and turnover of completed projects undertaken by the DEOs in the region.
“The Secretary and I have seen the quality of bypass and diversion roads and building projects funded under the General Appropriations Act and convergence programs with our partner agencies,” Yabut enthused.
Military facilities implemented with the Department of National Defense in Fort Magsaysay, Camp O’Donell, and Camp Olivas, high impact projects such as the Pulilan-Baliuag Diversion Road and the Ciudad de Victoria Interchange are now being enjoyed by end users.
