CABANATUAN CITY — A female call center agent was allegedly caught red-handed with P2.3-million worth of shabu in a buy-bust operation in Barangy Aduas Norte here on Sunday.

Nueva Ecija police director Col. Jaime Santos  identified the suspect as Sheryl Santos, 43, resident of Barangay Hulo, Sto. Domingo, Nueva Ecija.

Joint operatives from the city police’s drug enforcement unit and Sto. Domimgo municipal police station conducted the buy-bust against Santos after confirming information of her illicit activities, Santos said.

Confiscated from the suspect were three knot-tied transparent plastic packs and 11 sachets of shabu with total volume of 345 grams, two P500 marked bills and two digital weighing scales.

Charges of violations of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Law were levelled against the suspect.

In Talavera, anti-drugs operatives of the local police killed an alleged pusher in their watchlist after he reportedly initiated a gunfight during a buy-bust operarion in Barangay Pula at about 10:15 a.m. Saturday.

Acting Talavera police chief Lt. Col. Heryl Bruno identified the suspect as Oliver Agapito, a resident of the said barangay.

Bruno said the buy-bust which “resulted to the untimely death” of the suspect was conducted in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

The suspect, he said, apparently sensed he was transacting with an undercover policeman and fired a .38 revolver towards the police, prompting the police to fire back.

Investigators, he said, seized three sachets of shabu with estimated volume of 15 grams worth P102,000 and the handgun.
