COVID-19 continues to affect lives and livelihood around the world, displacing more women than ever, and amplifying gender inequalities. It is for this reason that Elevate AIDA (Artificial Intelligence and Data Annotation) was established.

Elevate AIDA, a program spearheaded by Connected Women, Insular Foundation, Inc, and InLife Sheroes,  in cooperation with the Mabalacat City Population and Gender and Development Dept. is an accelerated learning program that aims to equip women from grassroots communities with data-labeling skills to be able to do remote work and generate income without leaving their households. This will allow them to take care of their families and contribute to household income at the same time.

InLife Sheroes Program Director and Insular Health Care President Noemi G. Azura said, “For 2021, we will continue to focus on helping women bounce and recover from the adverse economic effects of the pandemic. Through the InLife Foundation, we are sponsoring 20 women to data science courses to empower them and enable their upward career mobility.”

The 20 chosen women, all from Mabalacat City in Pampanga, completed the 6-day online classroom training to be facilitated by Connected Women. The training equips them with data labeling, remote work, and basic computer skills. It was immediately ollowed by a 10-day on-the-job training, and eventually, job placement.

The project comes on the heels of InLife Sheroes’ second anniversary celebration. Sheroes, InLife’s advocacy program for Filipino women empowerment is anchored on the four areas of financial education, health and wellness, women-specific solutions, and access to business and social networks.

Connected Women is a growing community of 75,000 members that aims to be the leading platform for women’s economic empowerment in the Philippines. Their mission is to create opportunities for Filipino women to learn and earn, through entrepreneurship, freelancing and remote work.
