TARLAC CITY) – No province-wide lockdown will be imposed in Tarlac.
Gov. Susan Yap herself declared in Thursday’s episode of the livestream program “TarlaKAYAn” hosted by the Department of the Interior and Local Government, in clarification of circulating information of a lockdown.
“There is no thought of lockdown for the whole province, although there may be granulized lockdown in some areas if it is recommended by the provincial task force,” Yap announced.
She said there is no endorsement of lockdown as the province starts to re-open its economy.
However, the governor assured they are doubling the efforts to implement the minimum health protocols as prescribed by the National Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.
“I have already assigned the Department of Trade and Industry and Department of Labor and Employment to check the establishments and make sure they are complying with the health protocols,” she said.
She added that a province-wide curfew is adjusted to 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. as requested by the city and municipal mayors.
Yap assured the public that Covid-19 facilities are still below capacity despite the rising number of cases in the province.
“I was alarmed recently that our facilities are reaching near full capacity but we have managed to assign them already,” she said.
Covid-positive patients are assessed at the Tarlac Provincial Hospital and eventually confined in the different Covid-19 facilities.
TPH caters to severe to critical cases; Enrique Henry M. Cojuangco Memorial District Hospital, La Paz Medicare, and Concepcion District Hospital cater to mild to moderate condition; and New Clark City Athletes’ Village caters to asymptomatic patients.
The governor renewed her call for her constituents: “Please continue following the health protocols such as wearing your face masks and face shields, observing physical distancing, and washing your hands frequently.“ — Gabriela Liana S. Barela/PIA–3
