BALANGA CITY — Fire of still unknown origin razed tall grasses at a wide area adjacent to a well-known subdivision along the Roman Highway here Sunday afternoon.
Two firetrucks of the Bureau of Fire Protection here responded to the blaze at the vacant area separated by concrete walls of Camella Homes.
SFO2 Noeson Mendoza, BFP team leader, said the fire started at 3:30 p.m. and was placed under control at 4 of the same afternoon.
“Summer na kasi talaga kaya ang mga damo natutuyo na at malalago na ang mga damo ngayon,” Mendoza said.
He could not give an estimate of the area affected by the fire but said “malaki-laki rin ito.”
“Iwasan natin ang magsiga. Ito ang hinala namin baka may nagsisiga. May naglilinis ng damo ang ginawa sinindihan, eh dahil mahangin hindi na nila makontrol ang apoy kaya kumalat na,” the fireman said.
On Saturday, fire also burnt grasses at a vacant land in Dona Maria Subdivision also in Balanga City.
