SUBIC, Zambales — Police authorities arrested a suspected drug peddler and seized shabu worth P578,500 in a buy-bust in Barangay Pamatawan here Thursday evening.
Acting Subic police chief Major Rolando S. Ballon said joint operatives of the local police led by Lt. Noel P Villajuan and the Zambales provincial police intelligence unit arrested Ireneo Quimen y Agustin, 34, of No. 232 National Highway, Barangay Pamatawan in the act of selling a sachet of shabu worth P1,000 to a police poseur-buyer.
Confiscated from the suspect were 19 transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 89grams with an estimated street value amounting to P578,500, one brown pouch, and one P1,000 bill.
The suspect is now facing charges for violation of Section 5 and 11, Article II of RA 9165.
