DTI Tarlac launched Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay in San Jose, Tarlac

SAN JOSE, TARLACThe Department of Trade and Industry Tarlac Provincial Office (DTI Tarlac) and Negosyo Center San Jose, Tarlac conducted a Launching of the Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay (NSB) program in Maamot, San Jose, Tarlac on March 09, 2021.

The NSB is a program of DTI that allows a wider reach of business development assistance by bringing government services closer to the people through partnerships between relevant local government units (LGUs). Through the Barangay Development Councils (BDCs), the DTI helps capacitate Barangay personnel to provide basic business advisory or information dissemination services to MSMEs in the locality.  Under this program, individual packages of livelihood kits whichcould help qualified affected individuals restore and improve their businesses will be given in case of catastrophic events like natural and human-induced calamities including health disasters like epidemics and pandemics.

In her opening remarks during the launching, DTI TarlacProvincial Director Agnes B. Ramirez expressed her gratitude to all those who took part in the evaluation and selection of the MSME-beneficiaries.  She also added, “As MSMEs, they are the backbone of our economy and DTI is always here to serve them.  We hope that these livelihood kits will give them relief especially at this time of pandemic”.

Seven micro enterprises from Barangay Maamot were initially evaluated and chosen by DTI in consultation with the Barangay Council, as beneficiaries of the livelihoodkits.  They will be continuously assisted by the agency through the Negosyo Center San Jose for their growth and development.

DTI Tarlac Division Chief Zaida Garibay stressed that the program does not end during the awarding of theirlivelihood kits. Instead, the program will start a lifetime of partnership between DTI and the beneficiaries.
