SCIENCE CITY OF MUÑOZ – Three graduating college students died in a vehicular accident involving a motorcycle and a passenger bus at 11 p.m. last Monday in Barangay Bantug, this city.

Killed on the spot were Josell Martin, 23, and Roniel Listerio, 23, both residents of this city while Andrea Gamboa, 20, of Sto. Domingo, Nueva Ecija expired in a hospital in San Jose City, according to a police report.

Martin and Listerio were graduating civil engineering students while Gamboa, reportedly Listerio’s girlfriend was a student of the privately-owned Computer Training Center on the university compound.

The victims were on board a motorcycle which was bumped by an oncoming Victory Bus bound for Cagayan province.

The motorcycle, driven by Listerio, was turning to a street from the highway when the accident occurred.

The driver of the bus (Body No. 7103), who was unharmed surrendered to the police. None of his passengers was hurt.

Martin, according to his parents, was fetched by his classmate Listerio, who was with Gamboa, around 6 p m to attend a birthday party in a nearby barangay.

At about 10 p.m., he posted in his Facebook a photo of them having a toast (presumably of liquor), then an hour later, the accident happened near their house.

His father, Jaime who is an on-call vehicle driver, said his son was already preparing to take the forthcoming board examination in civil engineering.

Listerio’s parents are reportedly both overseas workers in Italy.

Last May, two graduating students of CLSU were also killed in a motorcycle accident in the same stretch of the highway near the university campus.
