CITY OF SAN FERNANDO
Police officers who underwent quarantine and treatment procedures at the city’s Covid-19 Kalingang Fernandino isolation facility were all praises for the city and the staff facility for “going beyond the call of duty.

All 25 of the policemen belonging to the Police Regional Office 3 Health Service Unit have been declared medically-cleared, following a 14-day mandatory quarantine.

Expressing his gratitude at their send-off ceremonies, one of the policemen said: “Even though we come from different places, we are so much thankful to the local government of San Fernando because they did not treat us as outsiders. We really felt their support not only because we are patients, but because we are friends, and family as well.

He also cited the people manning the facility, including the medical staff, nurses, doctors, and members of the camp/facility management team for attending both to their medical and psychological needs.

Isolation facility manager Cheriane Canlas said the police officers were admitted to the isolation facility in the last week of January, and were pronounced fully-recovered on Feb. 8.

“As we perform contact tracing, we found out that their source of infection is the breach in infection control protocols. Maybe they were infected because they did physical trainings all together,” she explained.

Canlas added that the facility continues to render free services to its patients for accommodation, food, laundry services, medications, and medical assessment and monitoring.

Meanwhile, PRO-3 health service unit chief of medical dispensary Major Florante Quiban II pledged to strictly implement the infection control measures within the unit to prevent the spread of the virus.

As a way of paying back, the recovered patients donated blood with convalescent plasma that will benefit the Covid-19 patients admitted at the Jose B. Lingad Memorial Regional Hospital and other health facilities. Jag Lyra Costamero/PIA-3
