OLONGAPO CITY – The city police office has a new acting director in Col. Jeric Villanueva, assuming his post today, Feb. 1, at Camp Manuel F. Cabal here.
The command turn-over held at the Hall of Zion at 9 a.m. with Police Regional Office 3 deputy director for administration Col. Narciso Domingo presiding.
In his remarks, Villanueva said he first set foot on “the hallowed grounds of Camp Cabal” 21 years ago as a young police inspector and has since considered it his second home.
Villanueva has served in various position from deputy station commander to station commander, from deputy intel and investigation to deputy group director of Olongapo City mobile group and later became group director for almost three years. He also served as deputy director for operation.
Almost half of his 25 years of service in PNP was spent with the Olongapo City Police Office.
The other 10 years were with the Regional Intelligence Unit PRO–3, Chief Regional Intelligence Unit 4B, RIU7, and RIU-NCR while his five years were in PRO–8, PRO–13 and twice with the United Nations Mission in East Timor.
“To the personnel of OCPO, I am encouraging you to remember the basics and to toe the line, for if you will not, you might be removed from that line. Let us not frustrate the people of Olongapo because they deserve the best police force,” Villanueva said, adding that under his leadership, “your PNP will double and re-double its effort to serve and protect.”
The new acting director reminded his men further: “There is no magic wand that can resolve our problems. The solution rests with work and discipline.“
