CABANATUAN CITY – Two persons died in separate vehicular accidents in Nueva Ecija on Christmas Day, police said Saturday.
Nueva Ecija police director Col. Marvin Joe Saro identified the victims as Emmanuel Santiago, 27, of Barangay Pook Rizal, Bongabon town and Mark Arvie Munda, 27, a farmer from Barangay Cabawangan, Nampicuan.
Investigation showed that Santiago, a beautician, was driving a motorcycle heading north when he crashed on the concrete wall of Bongabon’s welcome arch at about 4:20 a.m. Friday.
“The victim sustained injuries in different parts of his body,” police said.
Munda, on the other hand, was killed when the motorcycle he was driving hit a parked van in Barangay Bentigan Cuyapo at around 5:50 p.m.
Both victims were rushed to hospitals in their respective areas but were declared dead upon arrival, police said.
Saro urged motorists to always consider safety precautions in driving.
