CLARK FREEPORT — The spirit of giving illuminated the start of the holiday season at Widus Hotel and Casino during its annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony at the hotel’s lobby held Friday.
Widus Foundation, the social development and corporate social responsibility arm of Widus Group of Companies, has aimed projects to help the indigenous communities in Bamban, Tarlac with the renovation of one of its rural health units and set to renovate another in December.
“Dati iyong rural health unit ay madilim at kailangan talagang ma-renovate. When we saw the need, we acted upon immediately and submitted a proposal and our board of directors approved the project in partnership with PAGCor,” said Golimlim.
“We are also going to renovate the second rural health unit by December. We are committed to give back to the community in whatever way we can,” he added.
Moreover, Widus Foundation also turned over its “Para sa Batang Aeta” project to give opportunity to the Aeta children as daycare programs have been closed due to the pandemic.
“Walang opportunity for the kids to learn so we have decided in the Widus Foundation to give ‘Para sa Batang Aeta’ project. We will give them a learning tool kit which has school supplies, books, educational toys, vitamins, and others,” said Golimlim.
The ceremony was led by AVP for corporate planning and compliance Neki Liwanag, Widus Foundation manager Ronnel Golimlim together with representatives from the indigenous community.
