ANGELES CITY – Christmas came early for the city government employees – as they receive their year-end bonus today, November 16.

A total of 1,316 employees in the City Hall – 980 permanent, 321 casual, and 15 contractual, are set to receive the year-end bonus, equivalent to one-month basic salary, amounting to a total of P32,542,594.

The said employees will also receive a P5,000 cash gift, on top of their year-end bonus, amounting to a total of P6,580,000.

It can be recalled that last October 5, Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. released Memorandum 1160, Series of 2020, instructing the Local Finance Committee, composed of the City Budget Office, Accounting Office, and City Treasurer’s Office, to immediately compute and prepare the year-end bonus of City Government employees.

“In recognition of their hard work throughout the year, especially during the pandemic, we want our employees to have financial security, and to be able to still celebrate the coming holidays,” Lazatin said.

Contract of Service employees will also get a P3,000 cash incentive, amounting to a total of P8,415,000, which they will receive this December 10.

The grant of the year-end bonus is in accordance with Republic Act (RA) 66861, as amended by RA 8441, and under the Department of Budget Management Circular 2016-4.

Association of Government Employees for a New Dynamic Angeles City (AGENDA) President, Flordeliza Santos, expressed her gratitude to the city government for releasing the cash incentive early this year.

Meanwhile, in his Memorandum No. 1198, Series of 2020, issued last October 15, Mayor Lazatin has announced that qualified city government officials will also receive an additional bonus of P15,000 on December 22, on top of their year-end bonus and cash incentives.

The additional benefits include the collective negotiation agreement bonus worth P5,000, productivity enhancement incentive worth P5,000, and the service recognition incentive worth P5,000.
