SUBIC, Zambales – Operatives of the Subic policestation arrested a Chinese national working in a Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator company for possession of shabu while in Barangay Sto. Tomas here Sunday evening.
Subic police chief Capt. Rolando Ballon identified the suspect as Jiafeng Lu, 33, from Guandong, China and currently billeted in Pasay City.
Lu was found walking in Barangay Sto. Tomas about 11:40 p.m. Sunday night by barangay kagawad Geronjo Cinco and had a brief conversation with the suspect.
His suspicion raised, Cinco requested the help of Police Staff Sergeant Richard Lauzon.
While talking to the policeman, the suspect suddenly threw the paper bag he was holding at the two and ran, prompting the two officials to give chase.
On investigation, police found inside the paper bag contained 8.46 grams of illegal drugs inside a tin can, five pieces of carton wrapper containing drug paraphernalia, a Yale key with number 878C, and a cellphone.
Lu and the items seized from him were taken to the Subic Municipal Police Station for proper disposition.
The suspect is now facing charges for violation of Section 11 and 12, Article II of RA 9165 at the Office of Provincial Prosecutor, Olongapo City.
