TALAVERA, Nueva Ecija – At least 14 electric cooperatives in Cen
tral Luzon have joined forces to help their counterparts in the Bicol region restore power supply.

Rey Villanueva, president of the Central Luzon Electric Cooperatives Association, Inc. led the send-off for 94 linemen with 24 trucks and equipment here on Thursday.

He said the composite teams will be deployed in areas devastated by Typhoon Rolly in Catanduanes and other Bicol areas to help expedite the restoration pf power.

He noted that restoration of electricity is vital in the overall recovery efforts and bringing people’s lives to normal.

“Dito makikita ang pagkakaisa at bayanihan ng PHILRECA sa bansa. Sa tulong ng mga general managers,” said former Nueva Ecija board member Raqueliza Agapito who is now with the Nueva Ecija 2 Electric Cooperative.

Agapito was referring to the Philippine Rural Electric Cooperatives Association, Inc.

The teams, Agapito said, will stay in Bicol for about one month.

“Hangad namin ang kaligtasan ng bawat isa at dalangin namin ang katagumpayan ng Task Force Rapid Restoration, Rapid Deployment ng ONE EC Network Foundation,” she added.
