CABANATUAN CITY – Two suspected pushers of illegal drugs were collared in successive police operations in Nueva Ecija on Friday, police said Saturday.

Col. Marvin Joe Saro, Nueva Ecija police director, identified the suspects as John Paul De Leon, 39, of Barangay Aduas Sur and Angelito Santos, 52, of Barangay Isla, both of this city.

Saro said De Leon, a vendor, was arrested in a buybust operation by personnel of station drug enforcement unit of the local police in Barangay San Miguel, Quezon town at about 8:20 p.m.

He reportedly yielded six plastic sachets of shabu and the P500 marked bill. Police also seized the suspect’s mobile phone.

Santos, on the other hand, was caught red-handed with five sachets of shabu in an anti-drugs sting conducted by Cabanatuan City police station operatives at the vicinity of Cabanatuan Central Terminal, Barangay DS Garcia here at around 5:30 p.m.

Lt. Col. Arnel Dial, city police chief, said police also recovered from Santos the P500 dusted money which operatives used in the buybust.

Both suspects are now locked in police’s detention facilities while facing criminal charges of violating Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Law.
