ANGELES CITY — The People’s National Coalition (PNC) for Revolutionary Government towards Federalism and the Mayor Rodrigo Roa Duterte National Executive Coordinating Committee (MRRD-NECC) are appealing to the public to support the revolutionary government (RevGov) during its general assembly and press conference here on Thursday.
The event was led by PNC Region 3 spokesperson and City Councilor Joseph “PG” Ponce with MRRD-NECC national spokesperson Atty. Francisco ‘Arlene’ Buan, MRRD-NECC and PNC NCR chair Bong Alonto, PNC and MRRD-NECC 1 Marikina chair Ed Francisco, and other MRRD-NECC officials.
Through PNC’s proposed resolution no. 01, s.2020, the coalition stated its earnest appeal to the Filipino people to join in declaring the country under a revolutionary government or RevGov and calls for a Charter change to a “presidential-federal and parliamentary system of government.”
According to Ponce, there is no better time than now to push for RevGov even with the current Covid-19 pandemic to institute “tunay na Pagbabago (true change)” against corruption, poverty, criminality, illegal drugs and insurgencies and establish a federal form of government before President Duterte’s term ends in 2022.
This RevGov is being pushed through by the Filipino people to give our President extra power to expedite his advocacies and his promise to the Filipino people to have a true change wherein our form of government will become a federal system of government),” Ponce explained.
That’s why we formed the People’s National Coalition to call upon our fellow Filipinos and talk to our President to prioritize the RevGov to put an end to his advocacies against corruption, poverty, criminality, illegal drugs, and insurgency),” he added.
Ponce also said they are embarking on a campaign to collect three to five million signatures which are needed for Duterte to heed their call together with the proposed resolution which is set to be submitted by the first week of November.
We will submit the proposal together with the campaign signatures by the first week of November. Our target is to gather 3 to 5 million campaign signatures and if our President will not hear our call, we will be forced to march to Malacañang with more or less two million people from the different regions in the Philippines),” vowed Ponce.
President Duterte has denied his involvement with the campaign, during his public address aired on August 25, in the call for RevGov saying he did not have any interest to initiate such changes.
