FORT RAMON MAGSAYSAY, Palayan City – A total of 493 soldiers, including 72 personnel stationed at the 7th Infantry Division headquarters here, were promoted to a higher rank on Monday.
Major Gen. Alfredo V. Rosario Jr., 7ID commander, led the donning of ranks to the newly-promoted enlisted personnel.
Rosario congratulated the troops for their promotion and cited their hard work in helping out in the battle against the Covid-19 pandemic, at the same time, continuously working “to end the local terroristic activities of NPA bandits” in 7ID’s area of responsibility.
He also reminded them of the additional responsibilities that their rank entails.
The soldiers’ promotion to the next higher grade is effective December 1, 2019.
Soldiers of the Philippine Army are promoted based on their individual evaluation record which measures their length of service, competency, and service reputation.
In addition, career courses, passing grades in promotional examinations, and physical fitness tests are also among the requirements. Having satisfied all these, promotion to the next higher rank will mean an increase in pay and allowances, which is morale-boosting among troops.
