SCIENCE CITY OF MUÑOZ – Ranking officials of the Philippine Carabao Center (PCC) here stressed Monday the agency’s resolve to advance the welfare of farmers.
This, as the PCC joined in the celebration of World Food Day with the theme “Grow, Nourish, Sustain Together.” The PCC is an attached agency of the Department of Agriculture.
WFD is a global day of action that focuses on food security, which is celebrated worldwide on October 16.
PCC deputy executive director Dr. Caro Salces who officially opened the program said their mission has been strengthened with the institution of TEAM as guiding rule.
“TEAM stands for Transform, Envision, Align, and Make it happen. We need these to grow, nourish, and sustain the carabao industry together,” he added.
PCC executive director OIC Dr. Claro Mingala, for his part, correlated the mandate of the agency to the acronym FOOD – Factual, Objective, Organized, and Development-driven.
“Let’s all be happy working together not only for the agency but also for the farming communities,” Mingala said. “We should all be one in pursuing PCC’s mandate and objectives to better serve our farmer-clients.”
PCC division chiefs Dr. Eric Palacpac, Dr. Eufrocina Atabay, Minda Diloy, and Aimee Fulgencio also gave updates on the activities and accomplishments of their respective divisions.
The public health standards being implemented by the inter-agency task force were strictly observed during the activity, it was learned.
