SAN JOSE CITY – Two suspected pushers of illegal drugs were killed in a buy–bust operation that turned bloody in Barangay Calaocan here at about 2:37 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 20.
Police identified the fatalities as Jeffrey Herrera, 25, of Barangay Bakal 3, and erry Santos, 37, of Barangay Bakal 1, both in Talavera, Nueva Ecija.
Nueva Ecija police director Col. Marvin Joe Saro said an undercover policeman was able to buy a sachet of shabu from the suspects.
“When the transaction was consummated, the suspects sensed that they transacted with a police officer and pulled their short firearms and fired at the operating troops that ensued into a firefight,” police reported.
The suspects, however, were “fatally” hit by the retaliating cops.
Investigators recovered from the scene two .38 revolver and an improvised tricycle reportedly belonging to the suspects.
