BALANGA CITY — Bishop Ruperto C. Santos of the Diocese of Balanga on Wednesday issued a prayer to be recited at the checkpoints.
Here is the prayer: “Our Lord and Master, Jesus Christ, You are our safety. You are our surety. I believe and accept You as You said ‘I am the way, the truth and the life’ (John 14,6).
Due to necessity, I will pass the checkpoints. I humbly pray that You be my guide and companion each time I am in the road. May I, along with my passengers and those at the checkpoints be always patient and polite, cooperative and considerate, reliable and responsible.
May I be honest and ready with all the necessary papers, IDs and travel passes. May I be more attentive and extra careful for the well-being of my companions and those whom I meet at the checkpoints and along the roads.
Our Lord and Master, Jesus Christ, direct me and lead me always to and from the checkpoints safely and soundly back home. Amen.
As I take the wheels, ride with me O Almighty God, merciful Father. Let me always be prepared and well-protected. As I drive through the checkpoints, let me pass smoothly and securely.
Our Lady of Guadalupe, pray for us. Saint Joseph, pray for us. Saint Raphael, pray for us.”
