OLONGAPO CITY — A 20–day–old baby girl was among the 15 news cases of the coronavirus disease here raising the total to 142 as of Tuesday.
This was reported by city inter-agency task force chair Mayor Rolen Paulino, Jr. who added that nine persons recovered while one passed away last Monday.
The infant patient is from Barangay Kalaklan which also registered two other cases: a 5-year-old girl and a 36–year–old female. All are reported to be asymptomatic and in stable condition.
Three cases were recorded in Barangay West Tapinacwho were close contacts of a previous Covid-19 positive patient: all females aged 20, 44, and 16. Two of them have anosmia and one is having cough but all are in stable condition.
It was the same story for three cases in Barangay Sta. Rita, three females aged 15, 45, and 80 exposed to a Covid-19 patient. All of them are having mild cough and colds, but in stable condition.
A 26–year–old female also from Barangay Sta Ritadeveloped cough accompanied by on and off-fever. She self–medicated with flu medicine. On Aug. 23, she underwent RT-PCR test in a private hospital with the result coming out positive on Aug. 25.
From Barangay Mabayuan came five cases, three of whom are children: a 12–year–old girl, a 5-year-old boy, and a 2–year–old boy. The other two are a 64–year–old male and a 34–year–old–female. All of them are asymptomatic and in stable condition.
Paulino said the fatality was a 69–year–old male from Barangay West Tapinac who tested positive for Covid last Aug. 20 and passed away Monday.
Contact tracing of the person in close contact with the patient is being done by the city health office.
