Covid-19 in ‘Gapo: 7 new cases

OLONGAPO CITY — Seven new Covid-19 cases havebeen added to the list Friday, raising the total to 44 confirmed cases, of which 22 were recoveries, three deaths, and 19 active ones.

The report of city inter-agency task force chair Mayor Rolen Paulino, Jr. on the new cases revealed the following on the new cases:

Patient number 38 is a 26yearold female who workedas nurse in a private hospital. She developed fever during her tour of duty last August 2 and was advised by her supervisor to go on quarantine that day. Her RT-PCR testing on August 5 indicated her positive of Covid-19. She is currently admitted in a private hospital in the city.

Patient number 39 is a 53yearold female who was previously diagnosed with chronic kidney disease, hypertension and asthma. She was caught by the lockdown in Manila since March but decided to return to Olongapo City. On her scheduled dialysis treatment on August 7, she availed herself of RT-PCR testing as a requirement for her procedure and she tested positive of Covid-19. The patient is currently asymptomatic and admitted in a private hospital in the city.

Patient number 40 is a 45-yearold female who arrived from the United Kingdom last July 15, and was negative of Covid-19 in her initial swab test upon arrival at the Clark International Airport. She went home and completed the 14day quarantine with strict home isolation. As a requirement before returning to the UK, she availed RT-PCR testing last August 5, and her result turn out positive. The patient is asymptomatic and is on strict home quarantine.

Patient number 41, is a 54yearold male, asymptomatic with no travel history. He was scheduled for surgery for gallstones. He underwent RT-PCR testing as a requirement before undergoing operation last August 5, and the result came out positive for Covid-19. He will be admitted at an isolation facility.

Patient number 42, is a 30yearold male health worker, asymptomatic, with travel history in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga last July 29. He underwent RT-PCR testing last August 6, with his father and the result turn out positive for Covid. He is currently admitted in an isolation facility.

Patient number 43, the father of Patient 42, is a 58yearold male with no travel history. He had sore throatand fever last August 2 and had RT-PCR test with his son and also turned out positive of Covid. Currently asymptomatic, he has been admitted to an isolation facility.

Patient number 44, is a 32yearold female, asymptomatic with no travel history. She underwentcaesarean section last July 28 at a city hospital. On August 3, she had RT-PCR test and the result came out positive. Discharged from hospital last August 5, she was admitted in an isolation facility last August 7.

Contact tracing is being undertaken by the city health office on those the patients had interacted with.
