CLARK FREEPORT
Some P1.6-million worth of kush and marijuana-infused products earlier seized by the Bureau of Customs-Port of Clark were turned over Wednesday to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, Region III.

In its Facebook page, BOC-Clark said the strict profiling of consignees, importation documents, andnon-intrusive examination of shipments by their personnel led to the discovery of the contraband that came in eight shipments from USA, Canada, France, and Germany.

The agency added that the shipments were also subjected to K9 sniffing which indicated the presence of illegal drugs. Thereafter, PDEA chemical analysis was conducted and showed positive result for the presence of marijuana, affirming the suspicion of the customs examiners, it said.

Two of the shipments were declared as 2 Gift Shirts and 2 Baby Blankets but when opened revealed eight vacuum-sealed packs of dried leaves and toppings covered in two shirts, while the two blankets covered three vacuum-sealed packs of dried leaves, all suspected to be kush.

The rest of the shipments contained various marijuanainfused products including two small boxes of CBD creams, four inhalers made with hemp cannabidiol, one CBD vape pen, two packs CBD-infused gummies, six packs of Juicy Jay Hemp Wraps, three bottles of Bergland Tee Baum, three bottles of Japanissches Minz-Heilol, 15 pieces of disposable CBD cartridges, and 23 boxes of eliquid pods.

BOC-Clark District Collector Ruby Alameda issued warrants of seizure and detention against the subject shipments for violation of R.A. No. 10863 or the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act in relation to Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. —  With BOC-Clark reports
