CABANATUAN CITY – The number of confirmed cases of the coronavirus disease in Nueva Ecija rose to 248 after three patients from different municipalities were reported on Thursday, July 6.

The new cases comprised a 32-year-old female call center agent of Sto. Niño 2nd, San Jose City; a 21-year-old man from Barangay Triala, Guimba; and a 46-year-old man from Barangay Niyugan, Jaen, a report from the Nueva Ecija inter-agency task force showed.

The one from Guimba had close contact to a previously reported case while the third had travelled to Manila where he is presently quarantined.

Meanwhile, at least 121 COVID 19 patients in the province have recovered from the virus as eleven have died, the NEITF said.

The task force, headed by Gov. Aurelio Umali, reiterates its call to the public to keep on practicing minimum health protocols as the country battles the pandemic.

In this city, monitoring in borders had been re-intensified with teams from various agencies taking thermal temperature of commuters. Drivers are also asked to fill up contact tracing forms.
