CLARK FREEPORT — Following quarantine restrictions in air travel caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, Cebu Pacific (CEB) has maintained its gradual transition to fly safe by adjusting its guidelines and policies accordingly
amidst the current economic conditions.

In a virtual press briefing held Friday, CEB vice president for marketing and customer experience Candice Iyog announced improved travel guidelines and adjusted policies in order to make the transition for a safer travelling experience.

According to Iyog, implementing additional procedures for the passengers have been made to achieve safe travelling with the assurance to “travel with peace of mind” by providing passengers with flexible options to fly again.

“We don’t really know when everything will go back to normal but it’s going to take longer than we had originally planned. What we’ve done and announced was further improvement of flexibility options for our passengers,” Iyog said.

“Every LGU has different procedures and we are now checking on different requirements in different destinations also since the passengers should have all the requirements ready which is one of our challenges on contactless processes,” she added.

Flexibility booking options

According to Iyog, as the quarantine situation still continues to change based on data and guidelines from the local government, the validity on Travel Fund has been extended up to two years.

The Travel Fund is a virtual wallet which was created to store travel credits for future bookings without any penalty. It can be used to book flights for up to 12 months and can also be applied retroactively as extension to which the passengers can use until 2023.

Iyog also noted that CEB customers can also availthemselves of the free unlimited flight rebooking without paying any rebooking fees.

“You can rebook your flight without penalty or rebooking fee. There might be a fare difference however, if your flight is cancelled, you can rebook up to 90 days without fare difference” Iyog said. “These are the flexibility options for the flights we will apply for travel dates up to November 30, 2020.

Passenger safety

As an additional protection and security following the standard guidelines of IATF protocols, CEB will require all passengers to wear face masks while its crews and ground personnel are required to wear additional protective gear such as face shields and PPE suits.

Contactless processes such as online check-ins will also be maximized through its digital enablers through the website, mobile apps, and on-ground kiosks. Physical distancing measures will also be observed in queues upon boarding. CEB will also minimize foot traffic by reducing its boarding and deplaning procedures.

Enhanced disinfection programs

CEB will also implement enhanced sanitation protocols and disinfection programs including a full disinfection procedures on each aircraft daily which has been approved and certified by DOH and BOQ.

“We have to enhance our cleaning procedures. There is also a crew that is specifically assigned to clean lavatories and additional process every turnaround and crew change,” said Iyog. “Random and routine cleaning have been adjusted accordingly with new cleaning and disinfection measures as a safety standard for all including cabin air circulation.

CEB also extends its preventive measures to its employees upon resumption of work. Flexible work arrangements from home or office-based has also been adjusted including entry and exit protocols to better monitor their employees’ health and to further prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease.

Rapid testing is also mandatory for all pilots, cabin crews, and ground staff using an FDA-approved rapid test kits.
