CSF cops seize P350-K shabu in buy-bust

City cops seized P350,000 worth of suspected shabu hidden in boxes of beauty soaps from a female suspected pusher arrested in a buy-bust operation Friday night.

City police chief Lt. Col. Paul Gamido said Ruhaina Shaik y Usop alias Ate”, 42, married, a vendor resident of U St. Purok 14 Barangay Sta. Lucia here was arrested after she sold the suspected drugs to apolice poseur-buyer in Barangay San Agustin at 7:15 p.m.

Confiscated from Shaik were seven heat-sealed plastic sachets of different sizes containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu.

“Yung suspect natin ay isang babaeng Muslim. Itong seven sachets na itinago niya sa empty box ng sabon na Dove at Kojie San at nakumpiska natin ay may standard drug price na P350,000,”Gamido said.

The suspect will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, particularly, Section 5 or the “Sale, Trading, Administration, Dispensation, Delivery, Distribution and Transportation of Dangerous Drugs and/or Controlled Precursors and Essential Chemicals” and section 11 or the “Possession of Dangerous Drugs.”

Also on July 17, six other personalities involved in illegal drugs were arrested in followup police operations. They will also be facing charges for violation of sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165, Gamido reported.

All the arrested suspects are now under the custody of the City of San Fernando Police Station while the seized suspected illegal drugs will be brought to the PNP Crime Laboratory for analysis.

As this developed, Mayor Edwin “EdSa” Santiago assured Fernandinos of sustained peace and order in the community especially in the midst of the coronavirus disease pandemic.

“Kahit nasa gitna tayo ng Covid-19 situation, hindi pa rin natin pinatitigil ang kapulisan sa kampanya nito kontra iligal na droga. Kasabay ng implementasyon nila ng quarantine protocols ay ang pagbabantay rin sa iba pang mga kriminalidad para masiguro ang kapayapaan at kaayusan dito sa lungsod, the mayor said.

Recently, Gamido accepted the “Medalyon ng Papuri” awarded by Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Rhodel Sermonia to the city’s police station for its solid efforts against illegal drugs.

The city’s police station also ranked first in the PNP Unit Performance Rating for two consecutive quarters now after garnering the highest remarks in its administrative and operational accomplishments. CSFP-CIO
