ANGELES CITY – With
the reliability of its pure end-to-end fiber technology in place, Converge ICT Solutions President and CEO, Dennis Anthony Uy committed it will fully support the digital education program of the Angeles City Government. The pilot project will be in Jaoville, Barangay Pandan where internet connection will be provided to students. This endeavor will eventually be in effect throughout the city which has around 90,000 students in elementary, high school and college.

Uy met with Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. and Executive Assistant Raffy Angeles on Sunday at the Converge ICT Corporate Office in Pasig, Metro Manila and tackled the proposed internet assistance for Angeles City students in their online classes.

Online education is one of the key programs of Mayor Lazatin who intended to provide free internet access to all public schools in the city.

Mayor Lazatin sees the importance of a strong internet connection in being able to deliver online education, especially in this time of pandemic.

“Public school students will now be connected to the world and digital education will further enhance their knowledge as they seek higher learning. The internet is now an indispensable utility that should be accessed by Angeleños,” Lazatin said.

“As an Angeleño myself, l am committing to fiber-powering the education of the city. This is a way of giving back to our community,” said Uy, who started Converge in Angeles City.

Educational institutions all over the country are now preparing to hold classes online. Tools are now being developed so that both students and teachers learning could continue while schools are closed.

Uy assures students that the reliability of the Converge connection will be available to them. Realizing that the current virus situation should not impede with continuous learning. “Dreams of our students should never stop.” he added.
