ANGELES CITY —
A pool of local talents united in the advocacy of holistic living just launched a social empowerment movement for a sustainable feeding program through the current health crisis to the post-pandemic new normal.

Orissa and Friends is composed of Riza Lim of Orissa Garden of Wellness, Robby Tantingco of the Center for Kapampangan Studies, environmentalist and radio host Cecile Yumul, fashion maven Philip Dizon Torres of Pidayit fame, and chef Sau del Rosario of 25 Seeds.

“We have different talents but have the same advocacy to promote holistic health. It follows then that our efforts shall resonate with what I do at Orissa to feed the body and nurture the soul, ” said Lim.

For its first project, OAF rolled out Pan de Soul – loosely, bread for the soul which Lim hailed as an elevated and enhanced bread for its nutrients and health benefits.

It is rich in calcium, protein, minerals, and vitamins – which are essential to energize and strengthen body functions and boost the immune system, Lim said.

Beneficiaries will be required to make a Pan de Soul journal to see if there’s an improvement with their health. “We don’t want to give just for the sake of filling up their stomach, we also want to sustain life by improving their health, noted Lim.

For Chef Sau: In this time of pandemic, we need to help each other and make a difference. Pan de Soul is one way of helping out. I’m a chef and artist, my talent is God’s gift and it is meant to be shared especially to the less fortunate.” Chef Sau said

Aside from holistic health, sustainability is a priority for OAF.

“We need to engage the community for sustainability. Like offer livelihood program, I can teach basic bread making for free. Just learn the skills, sell the product and become sustainable. It is the best time to be part of something beautiful and meaningful especially in this time of pandemic. Time and talent are the best gift that you can give,” Sau shared.

First beneficiaries of Pan de Soul are the Tuloy Foundation for the Street Kids and Bale Balayan Museum for the Poor Children.

OAF needs your support and accepts any form of donations (cash or raw materials for baking).
