New Covid-19 cases: 2 in Zambales, 2 in Olongapo

IBA, Zambales — Three days after reporting full recoveries of their Covid-19 cases virtually clearing them of the coronavirus disease, the province of Zambales and Olongapo City said Tuesday that they have two new patients each positive of the disease.

Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr, said that both Covid-19 positive patients who were residents of the city died prior to the release of the test results.

He said that a 58yearold female resident was diagnosed with breast cancer with liver and lung metastasis and was admitted to a private hospital last May 22 due to decrease in sensorium. She was intubated and underwent RT-PCR on May 23 but died later that day.

The other patient was a 47yearold male who had cardiovascular problem, hypertension, and congestive heart failure and was admitted in a private hospital on May 22 due to difficulty of breathing. RT-PCR swabbing was done in the same day but the patientscondition deteriorated and he expired last May 25.

Last May 23 the city reported zero COVID19 patient, 59 suspect cases and 56 patients waiting for their testresults.
In Zambales, the provincial health office reported that two new patients were found to be positive of Covid19, three days after the province was reported to have zero positive cases.

Provincial health officer Dr. Noel Bueno said an 88yearold male from the town of Iba, who had fever was also found to have hypertension, diabetes melitus, chronic kidney disease, dyslipidemia, and pneumonia.

A specimen was extracted from the patient last May 22, and on May 25, results released by the Chinese General Hospital showed that the patient was Covid-19 positive.

The other patient is a 72yearold male from San Marcelino had cough, sore throat, and difficulty of breathing. He had also hypertension, diabetes melitus,and pneumonia.

On May 25, specimen was extracted for testing and was sent also to the Chinese General Hospital with the results released last May 26 confirming him positive of Covid-19.

Both patients are admitted in a private hospital inside the Subic Bay Freeport Zone.
