CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – A welcome relief.

Thus, the Pampanga Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (PamCham) hailed the “Libreng Sakay para sa Manggagawa” program of the provincial government, noting its significance especially to companies which cannot provide shuttle service to their workers.

“The Libreng Sakay 1 & 2 program of the province is a welcome relief, especially for companies who cannot, on their own, shuttle their employees to and from work,” said PamCham president Rene G. Romero.

Gov. Dennis Delta Pineda initiated the program in the absence of public transportation under the modified enhanced community quarantine.

While free to workers, the provincial government pays for the transport services as a way of helping revive the local economy and provide income to the sector. Social distancing and face mask protocols though are strictly observed.

Romero expressed PamChams appreciation to Pinedas initiative even as he noted that companies now confront formidable challenges, foremost of which are the varied and confusing “Back to Work” policies of local government units.

“This is on top of the financial constraints and revenue uncertainties we expect to contend with, as we try to re-start and revive our businesses during the MECQ,” Romero said. Bong Z. Lacson with Office of the Governor PR
