SAN ANTONIO, Nueva Ecija — A suspected drug peddler in the town police’s drug watchlist was killed in a buy–bust operation at Sitio Along-Along, Barangay Papaya here at about 3:15 p.m. Monday, May 18.
In his report to the Nueva Ecija police headquarters, San Antonio police chief Major Roderick Corpuz identified the suspect as Jimmy Lising, married, a resident of Barangay Sta. Barbara here.
The buy–bust against Lising was conducted in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency after confirming his illegal activity.
“However, when the suspect sensed that he was dealing with an undercover policeman, he suddenly drew his.38 revolver from his waist and fired at the policeman,” said Corpuz, adding that the policeman was hit in the chest but was unharmed as he wore a bulletproof vest.
Back-up policemen returned fire that resulted to the death of the suspect.
Investigators recovered from the suspect the .38 revolver, two sachets of shabu worth P2,000 and the buy-bust money.
