CABANATUAN CITY – At least 145 personnel of the Nueva Ecija police provincial office tested negative of Covid-19 in a two-day rapid testing held at the provincial headquarters here, a ranking official said Tuesday.
Nueva Ecija police director Col. Leon Victor Rosetesaid the tests were facilitated by trained police nurses from May 18-19, 2020.
He said the rapid testing activity among his personnel is in response to the growing Covid-19 pandemic wherein police personnel are very prone to infection being frontliners.
*This will also ensure that they, having direct contact with the community, shall not be Covid-19 carriersthemselves,” Rosete said.
The rapid test kits used during the activity included 500 pieces of facemasks, 500 pieces of surgical gloves, 100 hazmats, 200 shoe covers, 100 goggles, and 100 pieces of face shields all donated by Bong Cuevas of Camp Farms, Palayan City, Nueva Ecija.
This developed as Nueva Ecija registered a total of 52confirmed cases, 42 recoveries and three deaths. The province is under modified enhanced community quarantine until May 31.
