BALANGA CITY — The provincial health office on Thursday night reported that a 19-day–old girl was among the six new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease in Bataan, raising the number to 125.
The PHO 7 p.m. report showed that the infant is from Balanga City where two others – a 22-year–old and a 28-year–old, both males – were among those newly-found positive of the virus.
The other new confirmed cases are a 35-year–old female and a 51-year–old male from Pilar, and a 44-year–old woman from Dinalupihan.
Four of the new cases are health workers of the government-run Bataan General Hospital and Medical Center in this city.
The number of deaths remained at six while 10, including a month–old boy from Orani, were added to the number of recoveries that jumped to 53.
The others who recovered are a 63-year–old man fromMariveles, two 23-year–old women, a 46-year–old man, and a 36-year–old man from Balanga, a 32-year–old and 36-year–old, both women from Samal, a 28-year–old man from Hermosa, and a 31-year–old woman from Orani.
Of the 2,284 tested of the virus, 1,637, including 28 new ones, were found negative while 522 still wait for the lab result.
Bataan officials led by Gov. Albert Garcia requested for the extension of the enhanced community quarantine in the province until May 31, 2020 instead of reverting the status to general community quarantineto give way to mass testing.
The regional Inter-Agency Task Force has recommended the extension to the national IATF whose decision is being awaited.
