SAN FELIPE, Zambales — Two senior citizens were arrested, while a barangay kagawad eluded arrest by operatives of the municipal police station who upon agroup of people playing “tong-its” at Purok 1, Barangay Sto. Niño here.
Capt. Ramil Menor, police chief, identified those arrested as Aurora Alferes y Rebultan, 76, and Josie Ablian y Abad, 62, both residents of the said barangay.
Police said barangay kagawad Christopher Gelacio of Barangay Amagna eluded arrest.
Confiscated from the two were a set of playing cards, 12 P20 bills, three P100 bills, one P50 bill, 56 P1 coins, 11 P5 coins, two P10 coins, nine bottle caps used as hits counter, one pair of sunglasses with case cover, one bull cap, one towel, one Samsung Duos cellphone, one mountain bike, one table with cloth cover and three monoblock chairs.
Menor said kagawad Gelacio surrendered to the police after the incident.
All three suspects now face charges for violation of PD 1602 and RA 11332.
