OLONGAPO CITY — Two suspected drug pushers were arrested by joint operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit of the Olongapo City PNP and SBMA Law Enforcement Department in a buy–bust operation in front of Tailin, Phase 1, Gateway Park inside the Subic Bay Freeport Zone.
City police director Col. Benjamin Sembrano, Jr., identified the suspects as La-Verne Gabriel y Echalar,aka Bern, of Barangay New Cabalan, Olongapo City and Elmer Padel, Sr. y Lila of Subic town. The two suspects were in the PNP-PDEA unified drug watch list.
The suspects were nabbed in the act of selling a transparent plastic sachet of shabu worth P500 to a police undercover agent.
Police recovered from the suspects 33 heat sealed transparent plastic sachest of shabu weighing 151.35 grams with street value of P750,000.
Sembrano said the OCPO will continue its “unwavering efforts to eradicate all forms of illegal drugs within the city” and vowed to keep“reinvigorating its anti-criminality campaign, as well as put wanted persons behind bars.”
