SAMAL, Bataan — Payout of the P6,500 Social Amelioration Program subsidy to every beneficiary in Bataan continued on Friday in an orderly manner.
Beneficiaries were relaxed, seated on monoblockchairs inside a spacious covered court at the Samal public market.
A police officer was on guard, continuously reminding recipients to maintain social distancing while waiting until actually receiving the payout from employees of the municipal social welfare and development office.
And as required by the enhanced community quarantine, all wore face masks.
Thursday was the second deadline set for the completion of the payout by the departments of Interior and Local Government and Social Welfare and Development Office but it was extended until May 10, Sunday.
Latest report from Mar Jay Delas Alas, provincial officer of the Philippine Information Agency, showed that as of May 6, about 71.68 percent of the total SAP beneficiaries from 237 barangays in Bataan have already received the subsidy.
He said that 69,295 families out of 96,668 approved beneficiaries have already been paid as of Wednesday.
Those who have received the subsidy were from Abucay – 3,728 families, Bagac – 2,663, Balanga City – 8,396, Dinalupihan – 9,509, Hermosa – 7,427, Limay – 3,181, Mariveles – 9,548, Morong – 2,673, Orani – 8,251, Orion – 6,769, Pilar – 5,255 and Samal – 1,895.
Delas Alas said MSWDOs in 11 towns and one cityhere were still collating data on the Thursday and Friday payouts.
