SAN FELIPE, Zambales — A 79-year-old woman died, trapped inside a burning resettlement bunkhouse at Purok 8, Barangay Sto. Niño here Tuesday morning.
Capt. Ramil Menor, chief of San Felipe MunicipalPolice Station, identified the fatality as Rosita Renolo y Aluad, 79, single, of Barangay Sto. Niño.
Report said the fire broke out at about 11:35 in the morning at makeshift bunkhouses used as residences by 22 families at a resettlement area.
Bureau of Fire Protection ground commander SFO3 Alan Lanuza declared the
fire totally controlled about 3:40 p.m.
Fire investigation showed that the fire was caused by “faulty electrical wiring.”
The fire victims are temporarily housed at the Sto. Niño covered court.
Zambales Gov. Hermogenes Ebdane, Jr. and San Felipe Mayor Leo John Farrales promptly provided food, clothing, and other personal needs to the fire victims.
