Garbo, City Gov’t thanked for goodies

Mabalacat City Mayor Crisostomo “Cris” Garbo and Vice Mayor Geld Aquino personally distributes 25 kilos rice subsidy and P1,000 cash aid to households excluded in the list of the DSWD’s social amelioration program (SAP) in Barangay Sta. Ines, this city.



MABALACAT CITY — Residents and netizens here thanked the city government for various forms of aid, particularly distribution of rice, vegetables  and even cash, amidst the impact of lockdowns in view of Covid-19.

People expressed gratitude to city officials led by Mayor Crisostomo “Cris” Garbo for the 25-kilo rice subsidy and cash for needy households who may not have been entitled to the social amelioration program (SAP).

One Vhic Flores of Barangay Sta. Ines thanked city officials for the 25 kilos of rice and P1,000 cash.

“Salute, Mayor/Brod Cris Garbo,” he said in his Facebook post.

On another FB account, Mabalaqueño Glendz FG, thanked the city government led by Mayor Garbo for the assistance he is extending to households that did not make it to the list of recipients of the national government’s cash aid.

“Maraming salamat po Mayor Cris Garbo sa natanggap naming ayuda mula sa syudad ng Mabalacat City. Malaking tulong po sa amin ito. May God always bless you and protect you. 25kgs Rice and 1k pesos,” Glendz FG said in her post.

On Friday, the mayor and Vice Mayor Geld Aquino distributed 25 kilos and P1,000 cash assistance in the different barangays in this city. Earlier, Garbo personally distributed 25 kilos of rice to every household in Barangay Sta. Maria.

“We will continue distributing the city’s rice subsidy and cash aid even on weekends to Mabalaqueños,” Garbo stressed.

Earlier, the DSWD has approved 30,425 households to receive P6,500 SAP. Mabalacat has a total of 81,000 plus households.

With the extension of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) until May 15, the city government has decided to distribute 25 kilograms rice subsidy to 51,000 households who are not included in the SAP.

Another  netizen, Ramil Cunanan said, “Maraming salamat po sa bigas at sa cash assistance pati na din sa pagseserbisyo lalo na ngayong May 1.”

Remedios Gerente, a supervisor at DepEd Division of Mabalacat City, thanked the Garbo Administration in her FB post for the vegetables that the city government has distributed.

“Thank you po Mayor Garbo and company. Naishare ko po sa iba ang veggies. God bless po and keep safe to all,” Gerente said.

The same was expressed by Jamela Espanta Castro, a known academician in Mabalacat City.

For Estella Feliciano, a resident of Bical Tramp Purok 7, the rice subsidy and cash assistance is of big help to residents in this city particularly in this time of enhanced community quarantine.

“Thank you po Mayor Garbo napakalaking tulong po nito salamat po,” she stressed.

Mabalacat city officials has continued to appeal for patience as lack of manpower might delay distribution in some areas.
