SUBIC, Zambales — Long into the enhanced community quarantine, profiteers are still at their nefarious trades.
Detectives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group field offices of Zambales and Olongapo City with 301st Maritime Police Station arrested three persons allegedly hoardingand profiteering through online selling of overpriced 70% isopropyl alcohol in a buy bust/entrapment operation along National Highway Barangay Sto.Tomas here.
Led by Major Francis Aldrich D. Garcia and Major Michael John Villanueva, the detectives arrested suspects Shiela Olarte y Parayo, 29, married, of No. 59 Zone 2, Barangay Tucop, Dinalupihan, Bataan; Frederick Olarte y Gallardo, 32, married, of No. 43 Barangay Burgos St. Dinalupihan, Bataan; and Herbert Risonda y Paule, 37, married, of Barangay Balsic Riverside, Hermosa, Bataan.
Report said, personnel of the CIDG posing as poseur–buyers ordered 640 bottles of 150 ml Great Star Isopropyl Alcohol with a selling price of P70 per bottle and with a total price of P44,800 from suspect Olarte while the ceiling price from DTI was only P36.50 per bottle which prompted the CIDG operatives to conduct buy bust/entrapment operation.
Confiscated from the suspects eight cartons with 640 bottles of 150 ml Great Star 70% Isopropyl Alcohol, one Mitsubishi FB L300 with conduction plate number B6 P005, one genuine P500 bill, and 111 P500 peso bills with the same serial number used as boodle money.
The suspects are now detained at CIDG CFU 3 Olongapo Field Office facing charges for violations of RA 11469 (Bayanihan to Heal as One Act), RA 7581 as amended by RA 10623 (Price Act), RA 7394 (Consumer Act of the Philippines), and Sec. 7 of RA 11332.
