2 nabbed for selling overpriced alcohol

OLONGAPO CITY — Two persons were arrested for selling overpriced alcohol in an entrapment operation set by joint operatives of the CIDGOlongapo/Zambales, 301st PNP Maritime, and the city police in coordination with the Department of Trade and Industry Zambales office.

Police Major Michael John Villanueva, CIDG Olongapo chief, said nabbed during theimplementation of Oplan Mega Shopper were Felisa Joy Morales y Clemente, 28, single, of No. 39 Perimeter Ext., Barangay Pag Asa, and Adrian Ching y Sanidad, 37, single, of Lot 17, Barangay Holy Spirit Commonwealth, Quezon City. Police said one Kristel Joy Domingo, legal age, a resident of Olongapop City eluded arrest.
Police report said CIDG operatives posed as a buyer and ordered 20 one-gallon bottles of 70% isopropyl alcohol at P650 per bottle from suspect Domingo, even as the DTI-approved price was only P520 per bottle. The operatives pounced on the suspects once the transaction was finalized along Anonas Street, Barangay West Bajac-Bajac here.

Recovered from the suspects were the 20 bottles isopropyl alcohol, two boxes (50 pieces per box) of disposable face masks, five Lux thermal scanners, one Toyota Hi-Lux FX (Plate No WFO 928), one genuine P500 and nine fake P1,000 bills that served as the boodle money used in the buy-bust.

The suspects are now under the custody of CIDG Olongapo facing charges for violations of RA 11469 (Bayanihan to Heal as One Act), RA 7581 as amended by RA 10623, (Price Act), RA 7394 (Consumer Act of the Philippines), and Section 7 of RA 11332 for hoarding, profiteering through online selling.
