ANGELES CITY
 – Mayor Carmelo ‘Pogi’ Lazatin Jr. has ordered the preparation of additional 100,000 food packs to be distributed to indigent Angeleños.

This is the third in a series of relief giving following the earlier 70,705 food packs distributed in the 33 barangays in the city.

Lazatin has vowed that the distribution of food packs will be a “continuous process, aiming to address the needs of his constituents until the end of the enhanced community quarantine.

“Being faced with the community quarantine, we want to provide consistently to our people, making sure no one suffers from hunger,” he said.

While he admitted that the food pack distribution prioritized indigent families in the city, Lazatin said it is the city governments goal to provide every Angeleño household with food packs.

“We want to prioritize the needs of our marginalized sectors before anything else because they are affected the most,” he noted.

Each food assistance contains 4 kilos of rice and 10 canned goods, which is good for a family of five persons for four days.

Lazatin’s chief adviser and tactician Director IC Calaguas is personally supervising the preparation together with executive assistant Reina Manuel, city engineer Donato Dizon, city social welfare and development officer Joy Duaso, and other city employees in charge of repacking the food packs.
